Forward Control Enthusiasts Club
We are a group of likeminded people, who enjoy playing around with our vehicles and who have a genuine interest in ensuring that this rare beast continues to be a part of the Land Rover Story.
The club was formed back in 2000 purely on the basis that it would be easier for all of us to stay in contact, meet up and offer support to each other when things go wrong! We aim to be a collective encyclopaedia of knowledge and to be the sourcing point of any spare parts which may be needed. We are only a small Club but our vehicles are BIG!
Our continued enthusiasm for this vehicle is fuelled with a desire to maintain them as much as possible in their original condition. That said, in-keeping with the iconic adaptability of the Land Rover marque, many of our Club Members have made very individual alterations to ensure that their own vehicle is more serviceable to their families whilst attempting to conserve fuel and improve performance.
The majority of our Club Members do not wrap their pride and joy in cotton wool and use them as work horses on a daily basis.
Amongst the members' vehicles you will find examples with camper bodies, hard-top and canvas roofs, dropsides and flatbeds. Some vehicles have been fitted with 'cherry picker' access platforms, a couple with 'hiab' cranes. One thing is certain... with such a variety of fitments and a loading bed of 10 feet - almost no job is too big !
